The Institute of Guidance Counsellors is excited to announce two exciting initiatives that reflect our commitment to connecting, inspiring, and supporting our members: the launch of our official Instagram page and our brand-new podcast series.

Our Instagram page (@igc.instituteofguidancecounsel) was launched in October and is already becoming a hub for updates, resources, and stories from across the IGC community. We’re also delighted to introduce the IGC Podcast, hosted by our President, Catríona Rodgers. This series is a platform for sharing expertise, innovative practices, and engaging conversations on the challenges and opportunities in guidance counselling today. In our launch episode, Catríona is joined by three outstanding guests: Colette Twomey, Dr Liam Harkin, and Claire Kenny. Together, they explore key questions shaping our field, share insights from their experiences, and discuss the latest developments in guidance and counselling across Ireland.

In Episode 2 of the recently launched podcast series, IGC President and Treoir podcast host Catríona Rodgers is joined by IGC National Secretary Gerry Reilly to discuss AI and Guidance Counselling.

Gerry shares his experience on how he effectively uses AI to support his practice, focusing on three AI resources; ChatGPT, Gamma.App and NotebookLM. This episode includes practical demonstrations and tips for effective and safe use.

We are delighted to share episode 3 of the IGC podcast Treoir: Conversations with guidance counsellors in Ireland. In S1 Ep 3 of Treoir: Conversations with Guidance Counsellors in Ireland, IGC President Catríona Rodgers is joined by Dr Jennifer McKenzie and Dr Liam Harkin to discuss issues relating to International Protection Applicants (IPAs) and Ukrainian students navigating the Irish education system.
