Outstanding Contribution Branch Awards
In response to the motion passed at the 2020 AGM, the Awards working group put forward the following proposal which the NE have ratified. Each branch may nominate a member from their branch for an award which recognises their contribution to the profession of guidance counselling. For the inaugural year, each Branch can recognise up to three awardees, and in subsequent years, each Branch can recognise one awardee per year. The awardee will receive a special IGC commissioned medal (see below) which will be organised by the National Executive and sent to the branch. The medal can then be awarded at a branch meeting to be decided at branch level.
Selecting the Awardee
It is at the discretion of each branch to decide if they wish to confer any Branch awards each year.
Branches can select either current or former branch members who they feel made an outstanding contribution in the area of guidance counselling. Each Branch will make the final decision as regards recognising each awardee. The National Executive’s only role is in the procuring of the awards, meeting the financial costs associated with the award and the distribution of the award medals to each Branch. The National Executive will also promote the award on the IGC website.
How many awards can each Branch confer?
For the 2024/2025 Outstanding Awards season, each branch can nominate ONE member or past member of their branch to receive this award.
