IGC Press Release LC Results 2014

The Institute of Guidance Counsellors would like to congratulate all students who have received their results today. These results mark the culmination of their work at second level over the last 5/6 years and will influence the next phase of their education and career pathways.

For many it is a fitting reward for the commitment, dedication and hard work they have put in over their years at second level. They should be proud of their achievements which are the result of their own hard work and the support and encouragement they have received from their parents, teachers and peers at critical stages in their journey to date. Next week most of them will receive offers from the CAO, while others will continue their education at PLC level or through the apprenticeship route. A small number will enter the workplace directly. To each and every one of them we offer our sincere congratulations as they embark on the next phase of their lives.

There will be a small number of students who may be disappointed with the results they receive as it may not reflect a true measure of their efforts and commitment over their time at second level. While they may be initially disappointed, they can assess their options with the assistance of their school Guidance Counsellor and other staff members and charter an educational pathway forward that will be both rewarding and fulfilling.

Editors please note we will be available for comment from 8.00am on Wednesday morning 13th August.
